Three Outdoor Brand Collaborations with Female Creatives

Outdoor brands continue to connect with broader audiences through culturally adjacent artist collaborations. This summer, female creatives have risen to the top.

Check out these three collabs with women artists.

Fjallraven x Linn Fritz

Fjallraven launched a classic Kanken Backpack with illustrator and animator Linn Fritz to raise awareness and fight against ocean plastics. The Swedish artist created a geometric pattern inspired by small pieces of plastic, like those one would find on the beach.  1% of Kanken ART sales go to Artic Fox Initiative, Fjallraven’s fund to support environmentally focused non-profits.

Machines For Freedom x DIOSCVRI

Machines For Freedom, known for their commitment to women cyclists, create quality, design-forward cycling apparel with inclusive sizing. The brand partnered with DIOSCVRI, a women-owned and operated art studio based in Alameda, CA. to create the Mystic Felines Collection. “Since ancient times, felines have represented power, savvy intellect, strength, and agility. All concepts which can be linked to the powerful athletes, adventurers, and change-makers who make up this community.”  The collaboration came to life as a collection of lifestyle tees made from 100% organic cotton and produced in Los Angeles, CA –aligning with the duo’s sustainable values. Other products include a bandana, cycling cap, and water bottles.

Rumpl x Lisa Congden

A creative hotbed, Portland is home to both artist Lisa Congden, known for her bright and graphic art, and Rumpl, the brand that invented the “sleeping bag blanket.”  According to the artist, “I'm really influenced by folk art, by mid-century art and design, and by the outdoors.” Lisa’s punchy floral pattern, Night Shade,  is printed on a Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket.
