Rab is Making the Outdoors More Accessible—And You Should Get In On It

Ladies Weekend Out isn’t your average “women’s adventure retreat.” It’s a full-on skills accelerator, designed to get more women and non-binary folks confidently navigating backcountry terrain. Through a mix of expert-led courses, mentorship, and community-driven events, LWO creates an environment where everyone—whether they’re stepping into touring bindings for the first time or sending WI5—feels welcome. It’s not about gatekeeping or competition; it’s about access, support, and the collective stoke of getting after it in the mountains.

And now, thanks to Rab, you can join in without dropping a dime.

Ladies Weekend Out Adventures

Rab’s Ladies Weekend Out Scholarship is covering partial or full event admission for a handful of applicants, meaning you get access to courses in backcountry skiing, splitboarding, backpacking or climbing—without the financial gut punch. That means professional instruction, a supportive community, and an epic weekend in the mountains, all on Rab’s tab.

Here’s the deal: Outdoor sports aren’t cheap. Gear, travel, guide fees—it adds up fast. Also, it can be hella intimidating to get into a new sport.

While brands love to market their high-performance gear to hardcore athletes, Rab is doing something even more meaningful: making sure more people actually get the chance to participate.

The best part? LWO isn’t just about learning technical skills—it’s about building confidence and finding a crew that’s got your back.

Just ask Laura Stephens:

“Ladies Weekend Out was the perfect entry for me into the world of outdoor climbing. It was so nice being able to be fully confident that I was safe, learn ‘the ropes’ of outdoor climbing, and have the support of a group of fabulous ladies cheering me on.”

Or Jen Dragonette, who just kept coming back for more:

“I attended my first Ladies Weekend Out event about a year and a half ago, and since then have been to five more (or six… we’ve lost count). Each time I go, I receive exactly what I need from the experience. Sometimes I come away with deepened connections with other amazing women. Sometimes I come away with dramatically improved climbing skills. Sometimes I come away with heightened trust in my own abilities. I always leave a LWO experience feeling joyful, empowered, and strong.”

The application is simple—just answer a few different questions, like why this opportunity matters to you what excites you about the program, hit submit, and cross your fingers. Scholarships like this don’t come around every day, and if cost has been the thing keeping you from diving into adventures, this is your shot. Worst case? You spend five minutes applying and take time to learn why the outdoors are important to you. Best case? You’re out in the backcountry, learning from the best, on a trip you’ll never forget.
